About our firewood
We always attempt to source the wood that makes up our firewood locally. We work with local tree surgeons, farmers and landowners to source wood for processing. Once we have sourced and processed our firewood, we take the wood to be seasoned in our unit, this process ensures we can offer high quality, dry firewood without the costs and environmental impact of kiln drying. We offer our firewood in three grades, this means that we can not only offer a variety of firewoods, we can also offer a more renewable approach to sourcing wood; typical firewood comes from only straight, relatively narrow wood lengths. We are able to source a wider variety of wood than typical processor grades, saving waste and offering better prices to our customers. Due to the nature of our sourcing methods, we cannot guarantee which species will and won't be included in advanced, but we prepare each load to order, so requests can be accomodated.

Our wood grades, A to C
Grade A
Our highest grade of firewood, including premium wood types: Oak, Ash, Beech, Hornbeam, Apple & Cherry. These woods offer the best heat output and burn time, with moisture typically falling between 11-18%. This offering is best for people who use wood as a primary heat source.
Grade B
Our standard offering, comprised of quality wood types: Birch, Sycamore, Alder, Elm, Maple, Willow & Hazel. These logs are easy to light and still offer a good heat output and burn time, whilst also offering a cost saving compared to Grade A firewood. Grade B is suitable for regular burning and has moisture content typically between 11-18%.
Grade C
Our budget friendly offering, containg a variety of budget friendly hardwoods including: Poplar, Sweet Chestnut, Lime, (soft) Alder and unidentifed/mixed hardwoods. Despite the low price point, Grade C firewood is still a high quality product with moisture typically between 14-20%. Grade C is better suiter to less frequent users due to it's slightly lower heat output and burntime.
